Cornwall's best known secret or as it is more commonly known "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner" is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Located in South East Cornwall it is off the beaten track, which has helped to keep its charm.
With almost four miles of sandy beaches stretching from Portwrinkle to the west and Rame head in the east, Whitsands can prove to be a holiday destination that will entertain all ages. All the beaches are dog friendly and can be accessed by walking down paths on the steep cliffs.
Surfers flock to Whitsand Bay all year round, but don't worry if you're not a pro as there is a surf school which can provide all the relevant equipment and expertise needed.
Nestled along the cliffs are holiday chalets which have the most spectacular views. These chalets are privately owned, however many of them are available to let. If you are looking for a self-catering holiday chalet, please go to our self-catering section.
For day-trippers there is a car park located by Tregantle Fort, however during the summer months this can fill rather quickly. Some of the local farmers do open up their fields for parking and you can park on the cliff top, but it is on a first come first serve basis.
In short, Whitsand Bay is a real jewell which you will visit once and return for years to come.
I certainly did!
